Why should I buy from David Simmons Jewellery?

We take the time to inform and educate you on the true and ultimate value for money when it comes to diamonds, precious stones and metals. We do this because we strive to build a long-term relationship with our clients. We only use high quality diamonds in all our work; higher quality diamonds than those found on the high-street. This means we never use stones that have visible marks or colour that can be seen by the naked eye. We can supply flawless diamonds if required but we will always advise on the ultimate value for money. Fact is, most people cannot tell the difference between the same size, flawless diamond and another with the naked eye. We also offer exceptional aftercare service to all our clients.

How do you compare in the market regarding price, quality and craftsmanship?

Our prices are competitive because we make and sell direct to the public. Our craftsmanship is second to none. The quality of our materials and craftsmanship is as good as the likes of Tiffany but without the higher price tag.

Which jewellery associations do you belong to?

David is a fellow of the Institute of Professional Goldsmiths (I.P.G.), a prestigious organisation that one has to be a fine craftsman to belong to. The I.P.G. was set up to enhance and promote high standards in the jewellery trade. It's members are hand picked and are the elite of craftsmen in the British Isles.

How long does a bespoke jewellery item take to make?

A large ring can take up to 3 weeks from design to completion - 1 week to design and manufacture the mount, 1 week for the ASSAY office in London to hallmark and return the ring, and 1 week to fit the stones and do the final polish. This is a guideline only since more intricate pieces can take longer. If the bespoke jewellery item is required sooner then we will do our upmost to accommodate you.

Where do your diamonds come from?

Our diamonds are sourced from trusted suppliers and all are certified conflict-free diamonds. We buy Sapphires, Rubies and Emeralds direct form a source in Sri Lanka that have their own mine.

Do you offer private consultations?

Yes we do offer private consultations at whatever time is suitable for you, whether that's during working hours or after hours.

Does all your work carry a guarantee?

All our work is guaranteed, including repairs. We do not put a time limit on our guarantees because customer satisfaction is our most important priority.

Who have you designed and manufactured for and where else can I see some of your previous work?

You can see examples of David Simmons bespoke jewellery here on this web site. Over the years, David has made bespoke jewellery for various exclusive jewellers in Bond Street, Kings Road in Chelsea and for West End retailers. He has also designed and crafted handmade jewellery for the rich and famous during his time at a top jewellers in Canterbury, Kent. Some pieces that David has made for other well-known jewellers have been featured in popular magazines such as Vogue.

How many new designs do you do each year?

Only about 20 new and unique pieces of jewellery are designed and made each year, not including bespoke jewellery made for clients.

How would you describe David Simmons bespoke jewellery – classical, trendy or high fashion?

David personally likes more classical designs but can design and create pieces that are trendy and high fashion.

Can I use diamonds and gemstones that I have inherited?

Yes, you can bring your old jewellery and stones to us and we will reset them into a new piece for you.

If I get a bespoke jewellery item made and I don't like it, what can I do?

Our foremost priority is to make sure you are delighted with your new jewellery. Therefore, before work begins on the actual piece, we will first discuss your requirements and create a mock-up beforehand. If in the unlikely event that the final piece of jewellery is not exactly to your liking then we will make any possible adjustments or restart from scratch. It is paramount that you are completely satisfied and happy, and so we will do whatever we can to ensure this is so.
